Matilda Marigolds “Jesus Christ” – Single Review

Matilda Marigolds’ new single, Jesus Christ, follows her previous EP, Union which came out in 2021. She came prepared with new, upbeat hooks that separate her earlier works from this one. Matilda has added complex rhythms to her new song that we didn’t find on her EP. This track focuses on the lyrics just as well as the music, and I see a bright future of success for this Berklee student and artist. 

Jesus Christ is a poetic charm. I feel as though I can dance along to it, which I didn’t feel as much on her EP. Matilda’s voice is alluring and her lyrics are well thought out, her words sound like they’re coming straight from the heart. I’d also like to give a salute to her band and production team for creating a favorable tune.

I am eager to hear what she has in store for the future and I’m hoping she makes a lot of heads turn with her mesmerizing sounds and words. Maybe an album in the nearby future? For now, I will happily keep listening to her newest piece.
